Much needed repairs to St. Margaret’s Church Windows
|
As Autumn and Winter approach we are hopefully going to carry out the much needed repairs on St Margaret’s Church windows.
Thank you to those who have made a generous donation towards the cost and in anticipation of more donations, we hopefully will be able to cover some of the cost of the work needed.
Finance this year has been difficult and any contributions will be gratefully accepted.

Bargoed Community Choir
|
Since reforming after the pandemic lock down, the choir now meet, each Thursday in term time at St Margaret’s Church. From a small group of eager singers , we have now become an established choir of 30 members. We are supported by Head 4 Arts and are funded by some very generous grants from the Caerphilly area. Our musical director is the well known soprano Ms Ali Shone who encourages us with a variety of musical genres. Ages of our members vary from 35 to 88 and both male and female are welcome.
In February we sang at Ty Clyd Residential Home to celebrate the 100th birthday of Mrs Olive Jones. A number of the residents joined us for the occasion and we celebrated with a beautiful birthday cake. Mrs Jones gave a very amusing speech of thanks. Our next engagement is part of St Gwladys Church Hall celebration for the Coronation of King Charles III.
Bargoed Spring Fayre is to be held on Saturday 13th May and we will be entertaining the crowds!! On the Square Royale at 1p.m. St Catwg’s Church is holding open weekends on 3rd and 4th June, and the following weekend 10th and 11th June. Bargoed Community Choir will be singing from 2.30p.m on Sunday 11th June. We would be so pleased to see supporters at any of our functions and welcome new members at any practice session on a Thursday morning starting at 10a.m.
